The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF, the new retractable hard-top version of Mazda’s famous sports car, was named “Best Bang for the Buck” at an Atlanta auto show at the end of March. The Atlanta International Auto Show award given by the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA) recognized the Miata RF for its big features and small cost.
The fourth-generation MX-5 Miata has been winning awards left and right, and the RF seems poised to follow in its footsteps. The innovative RF hard-top convertible design is the ideal, with the security and practicality of a hard-top and the driving fun of a convertible. Its 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine puts out plenty of power, and its nine-speaker Bose audio system accentuates the excitement of the Miata’s dynamic handling and sport performance.
The MX-5 Miata is known for its lightweight build that cuts weight at every corner, and even the retractable hard-top RF with its added weight is just 2,445 pounds. The RF is only available in the Club and Grand Touring models, so it comes standard with features like a limited-slip differential and a sport-tuned suspension.
