Mazda Announces Larger Mazda3 Engine for 2015

larger Mazda3 engine

Recently, whenever Mazda is mentioned, it is usually in the same breath as the 2016 MX-5 Miata debut. While the hype for this new roadster has taken up many of car enthusiasts’ attention, the Japanese brand has recently announced another reason for you to focus on Mazda—the specs for the 2015 Mazda3 hatchback and sedan. Mazda released the model’s specifications and it looks like a larger Mazda3 engine is in store for drivers.

The new engine, which is a Skyactive-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, comes available with a six-speed manual transmission, while a six-speed automatic is also optional. While the engine might be larger, it still puts out an impressive fuel efficiency rating with the manual sedan offering 25 mpg city and 37 mpg highway, and the manual hatchback offering a slightly better city mpg with 27, though its highway mpg is the same.

Along with this new, larger engine, the Mazda3 will come standard with the Mazda Connect infotainment system and rear camera on the iTouring models.
