Though the 2016 Mazda MX-5 has only been on the market a short time, it’s already raking in the awards. The Mazda Miata recently won the Best Small Convertible Award given by the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA). This is the second time the Mazda MX-5 has won this award.

According to Mazda, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 design is smaller and sleeker than previous models, making it more nimble around corners, quicker on the stretches, and more fuel efficient. A wider stance ensures you get the best handling around, and a new fascia gives the model an aggressive look. You’re bound to turn some heads behind the wheel of the new Miata.

“The automotive press has been consistent in its lauding of Mazda MX-5’s performance, style and spirited driving dynamics through the years,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North America. “We’re honored to receive SAMA’s ‘Best Small Convertible’ award as further affirmation that we’re building the cars people want to drive over and over again.”

In addition to a new exterior design, the Mazda MX-5 has also received some high-tech upgrades. This includes Bluetooth capabilities, Blind Spot Monitoring, i-ACTIVESENSE safety, and even a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system. It’s hard not to fall in love with the 2016 Mazda MX-5. Lancaster Mazda can’t wait to get our hands on a new 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata soon!
